EU ambassadors approve EU-UK trade deal

영국-EU, 브렉시트 후 미래관계 협상 타결<br /><br />EU member states have given a green light to the new trade and security arrangements between the bloc and the UK,... paving the way for them to take effect in the New Year.<br />For more on this and other news from around the world, we turn to our Lee Kyung-eun.<br />Kyung-eun, what's the latest?<br />Mok-yeon, EU nations have unanimously approved the provisional application of the post-Brexit trade deal with the UK.<br />The official writing procedure will be completed on Tuesday.<br />The agreement covers a wide range of policies on trade and cooperation,... after Britain leaves the EU single market and customs union on January 1st.<br />That would end nearly 50 years of UK membership of the bloc.<br />The European council president, Charles Michel, expressed hope of enhancing cooperation.<br />And British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said,... the deal would be a “new starting point for our relationship, between sovereign equals".<br />The two sides will now move forward on the ratification process.<br />The UK Parliament will vote on the deal on Wednesday.<br />And the European parliament is expected to ratify the deal early next year.<br />
